Baanchangthai was founded in 1996 by Kru Lek, a Muay Chaiya enthusiast and a student of Kru Thonglor Yalae who is one of the very best Muay Chaiya fighters in Thailand. In the opening ceremony of the gym, November 4th, 1996, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn was the exclusive royal guest, meaning that the gym is trusted, well-bonded and truly honored. The gym and experienced trainers have serviced its people regardless of age, sex and ethnicity for around 23 years which can indicate the clients' feedback and loyalty for this original and timeless branch of Muay Thai.

Kru Lek is a man of Muay Chaiya branch, hard to find anyone who is as equivalent, given his interest in Muay Chaiya from an early age leading him to contribute more to society in terms of serving education system and millitary organizations, domestic and abroad shows and workshops, and publishing medias from the very beginning and has yet to stop. Besides, he has also been rewarded with a number of medals and certificates for all performances and legacies he has built.
