        What to Expect

The event usually start with the younger, lighter, less experienced fighters and progress up to the evening’s main event. Watching professional fights at a stadium is an excellent way to experience Thai customs, superstitions and ceremonies in a traditional and vibrant setting. For centuries, Muay Thai fighters have sought good fortune and devised practices to keep the evil spirits at bay, and many of these rituals are carried out in the arena by the fighters. The intense battles and unique dancing ceremonies are just the start of the experience. Combined with the traditional music played by a live band and a passionate crowd, a Muay Thai event is uniquely Thai generating an electric atmosphere like no other.

Chiang Mai Stadium has clean, modern facilities and serves food, alcohol and soft drinks.

        "Decent fights"

We went on a Saturday night, and so I think we were expecting some really great fights. The evening started off with a few kids fights, then progressively started getting better. For every great fight, you would get a couple that were a little boring. But that’s how it goes! Our favourite fight was actually with two young women, England vs. Thailand. It’s a cool venue and the fights seem pretty authentic, not “acted out” at all. A neat experience if looking to visit Chiangmai. I would likely go again.

        "A great local experience."

My 14 yr old son and I had a great time here. The boxing gives a real insight into local culture and local Thailand. The stadium and the experience is in no way luxurious, but we had a great time. The boxing is incredible, so demanding. Out of 7 fights we saw 5 knockouts.

"Nice venue with good lineup of 6 fights"

We went on a Friday and sat ringside, but it seemed like any seat would have been a good one. There are a lot of bars/restaurants right outside the stadium so plan on having dinner and drinks in the area before. I would recommend bringing/wearing bug spray because there were a lot of mosquitos there, especially at the start of the match. The fandom didn’t seem as crazy as I imagined, but maybe that’s because it was half full. Didn’t seem like there was a very lively gambling scene.

        "A truly authentic experience"

We really enjoyed our experience. A great insight into the Thai sport. No English during flights but still made for great watching. A must see if looking for a authentic experience
