We really enjoyed our experience. A great insight into the Thai sport. No English during flights but still made for great watching. A must see if looking for a authentic experience
We went on a Friday and sat ringside, but it seemed like any seat would have been a good one. There are a lot of bars/restaurants right outside the stadium so plan on having dinner and drinks in the area before. I would recommend bringing/wearing bug spray because there were a lot of mosquitos there, especially at the start of the match. The fandom didn’t seem as crazy as I imagined, but maybe that’s because it was half full. Didn’t seem like there was a very lively gambling scene.
My 14 yr old son and I had a great time here. The boxing gives a real insight into local culture and local Thailand. The stadium and the experience is in no way luxurious, but we had a great time. The boxing is incredible, so demanding. Out of 7 fights we saw 5 knockouts.
We went on a Saturday night, and so I think we were expecting some really great fights. The evening started off with a few kids fights, then progressively started getting better. For every great fight, you would get a couple that were a little boring. But that’s how it goes! Our favourite fight was actually with two young women, England vs. Thailand. It’s a cool venue and the fights seem pretty authentic, not “acted out” at all. A neat experience if looking to visit Chiangmai. I would likely go again.
